This intervention involved expanding a private parking lot serving a supermarket, which became necessary due to insufficient initial capacity relative to the growing number of customers.
The supermarket owner acquired an adjacent uncultivated plot, and after a long urban planning process, permission was obtained to use this area for parking expansion.
The new parking lot features asphalt driveways, while permeable concrete block paving was used for the parking spaces, in compliance with current urban planning regulations, to minimize impermeable surfaces.
Trees were planted in sufficient numbers to ensure that, once matured, they will provide at least 75% shading of the parking surface.
Finally, an underground retention basin made of recycled HDPE cells was installed beneath the parking lot to maintain hydraulic balance due to soil impermeabilization, as the area was previously green.
The works were carried out while the supermarket remained open, ensuring the use of the existing parking lot throughout the construction period.
