The project involves the renovation of the roofs of two buildings that are part of a larger production complex, to enable the installation of a photovoltaic system. The total surface area of the intervention is approximately 11,500 square meters, while the photovoltaic system covers about 8,000 square meters, with a total electrical output of 1,619 kWp.
For one of the buildings—whose supporting structure is made of steelwork—a preliminary structural reinforcement of the existing trusses and purlins was necessary.
The firm handled the architectural and structural design and construction supervision, as well as health and safety coordination in both the design and execution phases.
Regarding safety, it is worth noting that the context presented additional challenges beyond the usual fall hazards associated with roofing work, as the industrial complex is located near a railway line and crossed by a power line. Nevertheless, the interventions were carried out without interrupting the client’s operations, with all necessary measures in place to ensure the safety of both construction workers and company employees.
